While in Miami I found an epic aquatic-sports marine stadium that has been abandoned for 24 years since Hurricane Andrew devastated the area. It was built in the 1960's and was used for nearly 30 years. It has also been featured on Battlefield Hardline as a map and was home to many concerts and shows. If you would like to help bring this beauty back to life, visit this link and tell them Omar sent you. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/restore-miami-marine-stadium/x/10248694#/ Behind the scenes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQbd7S8rh1c More Urbex videos: Abandoned Primate Santuary "Monkey Asylum" https://youtu.be/VEUyf6FYw_E $6,000,000 ABANDONED GRAIN FACTORY https://youtu.be/Hoaz1cvwTJU Exploring Haunted Caves (Ghost Voice Captured) https://youtu.be/05AmoQYZZQ4 Professional In...

The Beijing National Aquatics Center, better known as the Water Cube, is an aquatics center that was built alongside Beijing National Stadium in the Olympic Green for the swimming competitions of the 2008 Summer Olympics. Despite its nickname, the building is a cuboid (rectangular box), not a cube. Ground was broken on December 24th, 2003, and the Center was completed and handed over for use on January 28th, 2008. Swimmers at the Water Cube broke 25 world records during the 2008 Olympics. The Water Cube was built with donations from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan compatriot as well as overseas Chinese. It was chosen through public appraisals as one of “China’s ten big new architecture views” by The U.S. magazine "Business Weekly". The iridescent bubble wrapped rectangular box shaped structur...

The Brazilian and International Paralympic Committees used a local swimming tournament as a test event for the Paralympics on Friday. The Paralympics will be held just after the Olympic Games, between the 7th and 17th of September. Around 200 athletes from 19 countries attended the event on Friday and had a glimpse of the new venue. The Aquatic Stadium received some criticism when lights went out for an hour last week, delaying the start of the finals of the official Olympic Swimming test event, the Maria Lenk Open. Brazil has received a lot of criticism over their preparedness in the run up to the games but Sports Minister Ricardo Leyser has tried to assure the world about the troubled Rio Games. Paralympians however seemed not too worried.
